MALAYSIA: Absolute Technical Production At The 26th Asean Summit
MALAYSIA: Guests at the gala dinner and opening ceremony for the 26th ASEAN Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre were treated to a visual spectacle thanks to the deployment of a massive 4K LED video wall encircling the room. Absolute Technical Production Sdn Bhd was responsible for providing the video wall in the main room – the biggest it has ever set up – as well as a number of smaller LED panels outside the opening ceremony hall. It opted to use video processors from RGBLink and panels from Lightlink.
A total of 310 sq-m of Lightlink P6.8 LED wall panels and 280 sq-m of P8.9 panels formed the main display in the gala dinner hall. A further 30 sq-m of P4.8 panels were setup outside to welcome guests. Displays of this size required a large number of video processors to power, with Absolute relying on three RGBLink VSP3600s, three VSP1314s, a VSP168 and a RMS5533.
‘We have lots of experience setting up LED walls of different designs and sizes for concert events, but this is the biggest LED wall we have installed so far,’ offered Chai Yuan Hsun of Absolute Technical Production. ‘We were also given a very short lead-time to do the setup due to restrictions from the venue, however the installation was very successful.
‘The size of the setup was huge but we did not compromise our quality and finishing of the product even though the setup time was reduced by half,’ he continued. ‘The clients were satisfied with the final setup and it was amazing to have such a huge LED wall for the gala dinner, which provided far better visualisation compared to a conventional projector screen for live feed and videos.’
